<b John Burningham</b es uno de los más reconocidos autores de álbumes ilustrados. Nació en Farnham (Inglaterra) en 1936 y se graduó en Arte en Londres en 1959. Con su primer álbum ilustrado <i Borka: The Adventures of a Goose With No Feathers</i ganó en 1963 su primer premio Kate Greenaway. Este fue el inicio de una exitosa carrera en la que publicó más de 30 libros, varios de los cuales fueron premiados, traducidos a varios idiomas y son referentes ineludibles de la literatura infantil contemporánea. Falleció en Londres en 2019.
